Mr. Sutton has more than 15 years of commercial real estate loan experience and oversees the real estate review area for Velocity Commercial Capital.

Previously, Mr. Sutton worked as a Senior Manager of Real Estate at BayView Financial Trading Group, where he was responsible for the complete analysis of real estate for originated mortgages and loans acquired in the secondary market. His analysis included appraisal review, cash flow modeling using Argus, the review of all pertinent operating data, and site visits. He also functioned as the company’s Appraiser Relationship Manager. In that role, he completely overhauled the company’s vendor relationship platform.

Prior to joining BayView, he was Vice President of Real Estate at First Bank of Beverly Hills, FSB. There he created the real estate department from scratch, wrote the policies and procedures, and managed the entire real estate function for nationwide commercial mortgage portfolios. Within a year of establishing the new department, the bank received a “favorable” rating from the Office of Thrift Supervision (“OTS”).

Mr. Sutton was also the Manager of Real Estate for Ocwen Federal Bank, FSB in West Palm Beach, Florida. There he managed all aspects of commercial real estate analysis and assisted in the credit underwriting of commercial mortgages. In addition, he also worked as a fee appraiser specializing in commercial and multifamily properties and served as a controller for a real estate developer.

Mr. Sutton has Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Florida and is a State Certified General Appraiser. He has taken numerous courses in real estate valuation from the Appraisal Institute.
