Jeffrey Taylor

Mr. Taylor has more than 14 years of experience in the mortgage secondary market and oversees all capital markets activities for Velocity Commercial Capital.

Prior to founding Velocity, Mr. Taylor was a Vice President with BayView Financial Trading Group, where he managed the Northern California, Oregon and Washington markets for the commercial lending group. In addition, he provided institutional sales coverage for a variety of accounts for BayView’s mortgage investment division buying performing and non-performing loans.

Previously, he was Vice President of Operations for 2dmkt.com, an Internet start-up that created a platform for trading commercial real estate loan portfolios via the Web. During his tenure, the firm listed over $1 billion of commercial mortgage product for sale. Mr. Taylor also worked for Countrywide Securities as a transaction manager in the Whole Loan Trading Group, where he managed the purchase and sale of over $8 billion of mortgage loan product.

In addition, Mr. Taylor worked for two different opportunity funds that purchased RTC/FDIC loan portfolios from 1992 to 1998. Examples of the deals he worked on include a $300 million portfolio restructure for a bank, the purchase and workout of a $15 million portfolio of multifamily/commercial non-performing assets and the consolidation of over $200 million in residential participation interests.

Mr. Taylor has a degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz in economics and history and a Master of Real Estate Development degree from the University of Southern California.
